Volunteers

Why Volunteer

As a volunteer-run nonprofit, we owe a lot to our dedicated corps of over 70 volunteers. Without your support and hard work, we would not be able to serve our friends and neighbors to the high standard we do now.

​

Volunteers are welcome, though children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

​

We offer volunteer hours for casual patrons and mandatory service workers Mon-Fri 9:30 am-3:30 pm

Food Pantry

Our food pantry volunteers are crucial to the success of our food rescue program and food pantry.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Helping unload our delivery trucks

  • Sorting products

  • Stocking shelves

  • Creating bags for pickup

  • Maintaining cleanliness

Thrift Store

Our diligent thrift shoppe volunteers help keep our little store thriving.

Responsibilities include:

  • Stocking items

  • Sorting, hanging and folding clothing

  • Assisting customers with finding and purchasing items

  • Maintaining cleanliness

Events

Our events staff help support us in our ongoing fundraising and special events efforts.

  • Annual Ocean House Marina Polar Plunge

  • Matthew’s Wish Toy Parade

  • Holiday Toy Drive
